I don't know why but I found this amusing/affirming, for some reason. I love these kinds of studies, but I do want to see how these results compare to users of the other social networking sites, as well as differen't age demographics. They mostly discussed 17-22 and hit on the baby boomers. They mentioned Gen X & Gen Y in passing, but I'd like to see an estimation on how these results worked a few years ago, on myspace and such. I do feel that over the last few years, people have steered more toward honesty in portrayal. People know when others are selling to them (in business and in a personal realm), so everyone tries to be more "real" now. I just like that this kind of study was done.

Are people are who they really say they are online? Conventional wisdom tells us that social networking sites, blogs and other social media outlets have allowed people to carefully craft online "personas" - essentially idealized versions of who they are in real life. Are you wittier online? More outgoing? More social? Friendlier? For those hiding behind the keyboard and computer screen, personality traits like these are easier to fake. Or are they?
